The children attending Nyota Ing’arayo are from a variety of backgrounds, many of their parents work within the nearby wealthier district of Nyali as labourers, housekeepers, and are often employed in the struggling tourism industry.

The school has twelve trained teachers teaching and the Headteacher is Albert Machuma and the School Principal is Brian Mutunga. Both of these individuals have worked extremely hard over many years to ensure the continued success of the school.
